London Tweetup – April 22nd 7:30

Tomorrow, Tuesday April 22nd, will be the first tweetup in London. This will be a chance to meet in real life people you may follow through Twitter in London or area.  The tweetup will start around 7:30.

The event will be held at Coffee Culture on Richmond St (map) in the back area of the coffee house.

I’d encourage anyone in the area to come out and help build the social media community in London.  Follow me, or blogldn on Twitter for more information.

2008 London Indie Media Fair

HUGE thanks to Greg at From My Bottom Step for the tip off that London Media Fair 2008 is going down in a couple weeks. Saturday, March 29, from 1 – 5 pm in the Stevenson-Hunt rooms at the Central Branch of the London Public Library.
.
“The room will be filled with people showing, selling and trading their independent media, including zines, comics, silkscreened patches, posters, literature / art / political content, local music, photography, film, and online media.”
.
There is also some talks going on that sound pretty interesting so… I really want to make it out to this event, I might be able to drum up more attendees for our meetup, if you are going let me know and we can meet up there.

Weekend Update

As is usual for the summer things are a bit quieter. Of interest at the Fair Grounds in the Carousel Room on Saturday the 16th The Rat Pack – Tribute to Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. & Dean Martin will be putting on a show and June 16 – 17 Forest City Classic Agility Trial will be held, put on by the Middlesex Agility Club. The JLC will play host to 2 shows for the Garden Bros. Circus on Thesday (June 19th). If your looking to get outside for a while the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life takes place overnight on Friday, June 15 to Saturday, June 16, 2007 at UWO Stadium. The event starts with a Survivors’ Victory Lap, and at dusk, the entire track gets lit with luminary candles that have been purchased in-honour or in-memory of someone who has battle cancer. The London Majors Baseball Team also have a game Friday June 15th against the Kitchener Panthers

Whats Going on This Weekend!

Well this weekend at the Fair Grounds there is the World of Motorcycles Expo on the 10th and 11th and The London Woodworking Show the 9th thru the 11th. Billy Tallent is playing Thursday night at the JLC and tickets are still available online, by phone (519-681-0800), or at the JLC Box Office. Also next Thursday the Barenaked Ladies are playing which I have tickets for, but if I’m not mistaken they are Sold Out. If you don’t have tickets I would keep trying as sometimes there are some last minute tickets added to the pool! I’m totally stoked about seeing BNL, I’ve heard they are amazing to see live, I haven’t seen them yet, and I love their music.
