The Ladies Rocked the JLC

So the other night was the Barenaked Ladies show at the JLC. I have to say its one of the best shows I’ve been to in a while. I’ve noticed lately that a lot of show have been starting on time, which is a change from shows I’ve seen in the past. The ticket said 7:30 and the opening act, Tom Swick, was on almost to the minute and the Ladies took the stage in a reasonable time frame afterwards. Tom Swick was good, I don’t know much of his music though I did recognize a couple of tunes, aside from the Paul Simon cover “Graceland” and a Beatles tune that the name of escapes me (I should have wrote this earlier)! The videos that were played on the two big screens that flanked the stage was great entertainment and in typical BNL style “ME”ssed with the audience right until the show started. Once they hit the first note it was pretty much high energy for the rest of the night. Contrary to the article in the Thursday edition of “The Ticket” in the Free Press the floor sections stood for almost the whole show and I didn’t mind a bit. I do wonder about how much of the impromptu raps and song making they do on stage are made up on the fly or if there is prep to it beforehand. The best of which that night was the rap about the 519 area code, which talked about the relation to small city’s in the 519 among other topics. All said and done I look forward to the next time they come to town! Anyone else go? What’s your opinion?
