Bill Joel OnSale Changed and WWE Announced

There were problems with the JLC website that made them cancel the sale of Billy Joel tickets on the week end. They announced a new date of Saturday, February 24th at 10:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased in person at the John Labatt Centre Box Office, Fanshawe College BizBooth, The Book Store at Western, by phone at 1-866-455-2849 or online at www.johnlabattcentre.com. They also announced this morning that the WWE will be making a stop by London again on Tuesday, May 29th for a televised Smackdown!. This time around Batista, King Booker, Kane, Chris Benoit, Mr Kennedy are going to be here. I have found to see a great show you have to make the trip to the bigger market’s but I havn’t personally been to a show other then in Toronto so… It will also be a taped event for TV so that should make it better show. It should be entertaining either way! If you’re interested tickets will be on sale Sat. Feb. 24 at 10:00am from the usual venues. Oh and for those interested there is a presale this Wednesday!

The Ladies Rocked the JLC

So the other night was the Barenaked Ladies show at the JLC. I have to say its one of the best shows I’ve been to in a while. I’ve noticed lately that a lot of show have been starting on time, which is a change from shows I’ve seen in the past. The ticket said 7:30 and the opening act, Tom Swick, was on almost to the minute and the Ladies took the stage in a reasonable time frame afterwards. Tom Swick was good, I don’t know much of his music though I did recognize a couple of tunes, aside from the Paul Simon cover “Graceland” and a Beatles tune that the name of escapes me (I should have wrote this earlier)! The videos that were played on the two big screens that flanked the stage was great entertainment and in typical BNL style “ME”ssed with the audience right until the show started. Once they hit the first note it was pretty much high energy for the rest of the night. Contrary to the article in the Thursday edition of “The Ticket” in the Free Press the floor sections stood for almost the whole show and I didn’t mind a bit. I do wonder about how much of the impromptu raps and song making they do on stage are made up on the fly or if there is prep to it beforehand. The best of which that night was the rap about the 519 area code, which talked about the relation to small city’s in the 519 among other topics. All said and done I look forward to the next time they come to town! Anyone else go? What’s your opinion?

BNL and Billy Joel

So the Barenaked Ladies are playing the JLC tonight, I’ll post about it tomorrow maybe a pic or two! Yesterday they announced that Billy Joel will be coming to town in May! I have crappy tickets to the show in Toronto at the ACC but I’m going to get good tickets in London and dump the one’s at the ACC on Stub Hub or something. If your intersted in them shoot me an email and we’ll talk. I’m only looking to sell at face value but they aren’t very good seats so… Also I did get tickets to John Mayer and I do believe there are some good seats left!

Great Drink

Michelle and I were out with her parents for dinner last night. We went to a place that we frequent in the north side of the city. McGinnis Landing – 519.472.8349 666 Wonderland Road North. Michelle tried a new drink they call a Raspberry Mojita. It was awesome, very sweet so steer clear if you don’t like sweet! I took a picture of the menu so we can make it at home!

Whats Going on This Weekend!

Well this weekend at the Fair Grounds there is the World of Motorcycles Expo on the 10th and 11th and The London Woodworking Show the 9th thru the 11th. Billy Tallent is playing Thursday night at the JLC and tickets are still available online, by phone (519-681-0800), or at the JLC Box Office. Also next Thursday the Barenaked Ladies are playing which I have tickets for, but if I’m not mistaken they are Sold Out. If you don’t have tickets I would keep trying as sometimes there are some last minute tickets added to the pool! I’m totally stoked about seeing BNL, I’ve heard they are amazing to see live, I haven’t seen them yet, and I love their music.

Happy February! Man its’s COLD!

Wow what a cold snap we’re having eh? I had to fill up my truck and almost lost an ear! Anyways sorry for the sparseness of posts on the blog but I’ve been a bit busy and had a ton of problems upgrading my personal site. Well when I say “problems upgrading” it just plain busted and I lost everything. So with a fresh start and I’m on my way again but for some reason podpress will not work with either this of that site. Anyone have any ideas why? Also I’m still looking for bloggers interested in providing content for the site!
